The Apple of My Eye

I have been meaning to take this picture forever. It's a picture of two apples that belong to two of my loves, Ethan and Eav. Which apple belongs to which child?

Ethan's is on the left. He is my child of order. He knows the rules and follows them. He likes things clean and is very neat. Every morning he folds his two blankets and places them under h
is pillow, makes his bed and keeps his room very tidy. He keeps his door closed at all times to make sure his little sisters don't mess it up.

He loves to read, draw, build things and can play quietly on his own for long periods of time. He loves routine and does things pretty much the same way every time. When he was younger, bedtime used to take forever because he always wanted the same 10 things done EVERY night. He also keeps us very honest. He never forgets what we say, ever. He is pretty reserved in most areas whether it's meeting new people, trying something new, or sharing his thoughts or ideas. He is very logical and we can reason with him on most things. Ethan is so obedient and we can trust him with anything. He always tells the truth and lets us know if there is anything we should be worried about.

Eav's apple is on the right, obviously. Anyone who knows Eav would guess the apple looking like it's been eaten by an animal is her's. Eav is pretty much opposite of everything I just said about Ethan. Eav is a child of disorder. She knows the rules and enjoys breaking them. She leaves a trail of clothes and toys wherever she goes. She tries, sometimes, but she seriously cannot do a task without spilling, dropping, marking or breaking something. She has to experience everything and can never just take your word for it.

She is an amazing dancer and can feel any kind of music and moves her body to the beat. She loves to paint and use her hands. She loves to sing and does it at the top of her lun
gs as often as she can. She has a great talent of memorizing lyrics, even if they're not real words and just sound alike. Our neighbors are serenaded at various times of the day, basically whenever the kids play in the yard. Eav lives in the moment. Whatever she is feeling determines what she does. She wears her heart on her sleeve. You never have to guess what kind of day she is having. She has a zest for life and loves to express herself with words and affection.

I'd like to think that each of our E's have some balance of the opposing apple's qualities. I don't think I included everything that makes each of them so unique. But I couldn't resist making this post. When Rawley and I were handed these two apples from the back seat of the car, we knew it was something we had to document.
